    Grand Canyon, world class hot spot, is indeed worth visiting.  We did a day hike along the rim, went backpacking down to Colorado river, drove along the dissert view drive, and also visited north rim.  It was indeed gorgeous.

    Zion, "a red land", was good, too - not as famous as Grand Canyon but it had it's own style and characteristics. We did couple day hiking routes, but unfortunately we haven't had a chance to visit it's most famous spot - the narrows, a narrow canyon with river running through it - because the water is normally  too cold for people to walk in it in May.
